Loving New Orleans

Hey!

This isn’t going to be a long blog post. I just want to share my recent trip to New Orleans.

Each year the hubby and I celebrate our wedding anniversary by taking a week long trip. We’ve been to Jamaica, Bermuda, Cuba, Cayman Islands, and other places outside of the United States to celebrate.

Although travel restrictions are being lifted in other  countries we decided to stay in the states to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. My husband wanted to go back to New Orleans (we’ve been 3 other times). I wasn’t thrilled about going back…at first that is.

After dealing with the death of two patients I’ve been taking care of for the last 20+ years, I was ready to get far away from Philly. Escaping to New Orleans was looking pretty good.

The night before we left for the airport, hubby and I made a pact to thoroughly enjoy ourselves. AKA don’t argue! LOL! During our vacation we discovered we didn’t argue not one time because it was just the two of us. I digress. That’s a whole other blog post…traveling with family. Chile, it can be a hot mess!

While in New Orleans we had a wonderful time. Sleeping past 6 a.m. every morning, a diet of fried yummy foods daily, and shopping in the French Quarter. This time around we sought out the Black experience of New Orleans. I’ve put pics below of the places we visited.

If you don’t like hot & humid weather, don’t visit during the summer months. Because good gawd! It’s muggy! But I loved every minute of it! Especially the sculpture of one of my favorite gospel singers, Maliah Jackson.

Well, that’s it! Told you it was going to be a short one. 🙂

Until next time,

Suzette
