Why did you decide to go natural?
I decided to go natural because my hair was beginning to thin really bad at the top. At that time I wore my hair spiked which was my signature style (and oh did I love it) My beautician told me I had to wear my hair differently so that was my aha moment! I celebrated two years natural in Dec 2012.
Did you do the big chop? If so, can you share that experience?
No I didn’t do the bc
What do you love best about your natural hair?
What I love best about my natural hair is the fact that I can see how much my hair has grown which is an indication that it is healthy. I love the fact that I have so many more options when it comes to styling.
What pearls of wisdom would you give someone who’s considering going natural?
For those who are considering going natural I would say make sure you are mentally prepared for the change. Meaning there will be some bad days in which your hair will not cooperate. I can remember about three months into my transition the style I was trying to achieve didn’t come out right. I did get a little frustrated but I was determined I was not going to get a perm. I continued and I’m so glad I got over that period and absolutely love being a natural chica!
