Let’s see… February 1 is the 10th Annual National Wear Red Day. This day is set aside to bring awareness to heart disease in women and to raise money to put an end to the disease. Did you know that heart disease is the number 1 killer of women? It kills more women than breast cancer, cervical cancer or ovarian cancer. You can visit www.GoRedForWomen.org/WearRedDay for more information on how you can make a difference.
One of my absolute favorite holidays is Valentine’s Day. Ever since childhood when all the kids in class exchanged Valentine’s Day cards, I’ve been a sucker for this day. I loved getting all the cards and pastel candy hearts from the boys. Now that I’m older and a seasoned married woman, the hubby and I use this day to block out the kids and everyone else as we spend much needed quality time together. And of course, I loooove and look forward to my box of Godiva Chocolates and dinner date.
February is also my birth month! Yay me! I’m rapidly approaching the big 4-6 and you know what? I feel pretty darn good about it! I have plans to get a massage, my hair done and then dinner with my hubby and daddy at a restaurant that features a live jazz band. The only damper on this day is that my mom is no longer with me. Every morning on February 22, she would call wishing me a happy birthday. I’m already missing that call…
And for all you Love Conquers All fans I’ll be holding a contest this month featuring A Special Summer on my facebook page Victoria Wells’ Books and Things. Be sure to check it out. You just may win a prize!
So…what’s cooking with you in February?
Until next time,
